Children's Privacy

This service is committed to protecting children's online privacy.  That's why we have created a special Children's Privacy Policy and easy-to-use Parental Controls so you can customize your child's online experience.

Only an adult can hold a primary username and only a primary username can open other sub-accounts (in other words a screen name), including a sub-account for a child. If you open a sub-account for a child, remember that a screen name is your child's online identity and e-mail address. If you have or are creating a screen name for your child, please read this privacy policy to understand this service's practices regarding children's online privacy in areas designed for children age 12 and under.

By creating a screen name for your child, you as the parent (primary username) are agreeing to this service's policy and practices. Specifically, you are agreeing to allow this service to use your child's screen name to provide the types of online activities and services described below.

Under our Children's Privacy Policy, this service will:

(1) Limit personal information collection.  The only personal information this service generally has about a sub-account is the screen name of that sub-account.  Your child can use his or her screen name to participate in a variety of interactive features such as e-mail, instant message notes, and forums. When participating in a forum, a screen name can be seen by others and may be used by the forum manager to send updates to your child about activities in the forum.  In addition, the recipient of an e-mail or instant message will see the screen name.

(2) Give parents choices.  For example, if your child visits a forum, your child may receive e-mail to his or her screen name about new developments in that forum. In addition, if your child participates in a forum or visits a particular channel, your child may receive e-mail letting him or her know about upcoming forums or channel events. If you don't want your child to receive these e-mails, you may go to Mail Controls and block all e-mail or particular e-mail addresses or domains.

(3) Provide parents with access and control over personal information collected from children.  As stated above, the only personal information this service generally has about a child is his or her screen name. If, at any time, you no longer want your child to have a screen name, you may delete it by going to KEYWORD: NAMES.  If you have additional questions regarding your child's use of his or her screen name, you may contact us by phone, e-mail, or postal mail. See below for our contact information.

(4) Take security seriously.  This service takes steps to ensure that the limited personal information collected from children is secure, including limiting the number of people who have physical access to our servers as well as establishing security systems and passwords to guard against unauthorized access.

(5)Partner only with select outside companies when offering additional areas designed for children.  For a list of Kids' Partners, please visit KEYWORD: KIDSPARTNERS.

(6) Protect children from online chats. As a part of our commitment to children's online privacy, the service does not contain a general chat area and it does not contain any chat functionality within areas of the service that are programmed for children.

Under our Children's Privacy Policy, this service does:

(1) NOT collect more information from children than is reasonably necessary for them to participate in activities.

(2) NOT entice children, by the prospect of a special game, prize or other activity, to provide more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in the activity.

(3) NOT share any personal information about children with third parties. Should this service ever wish to do so, we will get permission from parents first.
